I have to ask, when i try to play multiplayer, it says my game is outdated can someone tell me how to update it?

Since Guardian Collection is in development ST3 servers will be down indefinitely, and multiplayer will no longer be playable officially. If you still want to play, lumautils is a mod that returns online. Just don't be surprised if you don't find anyone else currently playing.

No official way, no. ST3 is still playable through Lumautils.
