how about:
customizable antennas you can shape on your own
Hat skins like in ST2
the ability to toggle a character's model from the new one to the old one and other way around (like play as OLD/NEW player model or play as ST2/ST3 Tinky tank model for example.)
Customizable name colors. While it may ruin the Premium and VIP roles niche of their unique purple or gold, make it so their name appears colorful (purple or gold) in chat (along their texts perhaps) while for the rest of the players (members or lower) share a different color
