Hello everyone, the Slendytubbies 3 update has had such a high player count since release. ?
It's amazing to see how much of you are still interested in the original game.
To articulate what this update was, we replaced Photon Networking With FishNet, in order to allow servers to be up without lobby spam or room spam, in addition to the prevention of impersonation. However the game still uses original logic and code that was with the previous networking library.
The Guardian Collection is a rewrite of the entire code base, with anti-cheat and security at the focus.
Since this S3 update has had no changes to security, there has been a surge of hackers coming into rooms and causing mayhem for many others.
Given the large player count in Slendytubbies 3 and our surprise around that; I'm going to take the time to focus on adding security to the original game. Thanks to FishNet, we can introduce true host-based authentication and authority over RPCs. What this means is that we can have the host of a room check and validate any networking sent to the room, meaning we can add security to detect if a hacker is "spawning 1000 rockets at once to crash a room", or "flying/speed hacking".
We'll also give Mobile more love. <:love:772181699286007818>
It's honestly great to see how many of you still care about the original game after almost 10 years.
We also need to figure out a solution to prevent website spam, as CleanTalk (the subscription based anti-spam service) is blocking specific IP's from Russia and similar regions; preventing those affected from playing online.
Please report any exploits you find in <#343831721755672596> , I'll add host-based checks to validate if hacks occur within a room around them.
Don't be afraid to ask me what he's doing in his discord server.
BUT WHY DOENT HE BAN HACKERS?
